Fe. 10, 2006 - COLLEGE STATION, Texas - A staffer who resigned from NASA after he was accused of restricting access to a noted climate scientist said Thursday he was targeted because of his political ties.
George C. Deutsch, 24, resigned from the agency's public relations department earlier this week.
"What you do have is hearsay coming from a handful of people who have clear partisan ties and they are really coming after me as a Bush appointee," he told radio station WTAW. "I was an easy target. I was low-hanging fruit."
The New York Times reported Wednesday that Deutsch attempted to limit reporters' access to Jim Hansen, a noted NASA climate scientist, and insisted that a Web designer insert the word "theory" before any mention of the Big Bang.
Deutsch denied the allegations.
"I have never been told to censor science, to squelch anything or to insert religion into any issue, absolutely not," said the former Bush campaign worker.

George Deutsch lied and said he went to Texas A-M, he didn't he lied! How come the FBI or any other agency didn't do a "background" check on George C. Deutsch? Does our government allow just anyone to work in government without a "security clearance"? Also isn't lying about a phony degree to get a job, a felony?

This little snot dip shit was inserted into NASA try to censor actual scientific research to suit the political needs of GOP religious elders. And big surprise, he's now glorifying his resignation stunt at some right-wing Texas radio station, and making his next major career move - Religious Conservative Marytr. Maybe a new book with foreword by Bill O'Reilly? These cockroaches are so predictable.

He said he graduated and HE LIED! He should have been FIRED and he shoudl be prosecuted for falsifying information to get federal employment. Does anybody do their damn job anymore? Did anybody do a security check on this guy? How about the NY times? They reported his education without checking it.
What a joke. He RESIGNED and he is STILL complaining.
The guy had ZERO experience with NASA or space and he was STILL appointed to his position. Sound familiar?
ANOTHER Bush appointee who was GIVEN a prestigious position simply because of his connection to Bush?
Where have we heard this before? Maybe FEMA? He was a journalism student whose only experience with science was that he wrote a few articles about video games. SHUT UP buddy and disappear! You are a disgrace.

He went whining to the press apparently, saying he had been badly treated. It then became a big deal because his underlings accused him of acting as a shill for his handlers. He, for instance insisted that any scientist at NASA the word "theory" be attached to anything that was inconsistent with the current administration's pandering to the far wacko right (i.e., Big "Bang theory"). For the elder scientists, it was ridiculous coming from a 24 year old kid.
