Our founding fathers were totally against "parties!"
George Washington referred to political parties as "the worse enemy" of democratic governments, potent engines by which cunning, ambition and unprincipled men will subvert the power of the people.
Alexander Hamilton equated political parties with "ambition, avarice, and personal animosity.
Thomas Jefferson said, "If I could go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all."
Basically Alexander Hamilton wanted more of a "monarchical Federalist" government and Jefferson and Madison wanted no part of that. Jefferson thought that Hamilton's (Treasury Department) would have an influence over the legislator, thus creating a "corrupt squadron" of congressmen and senators who would work "to get rid of the limitations imposed by the Constitution and turn the country towards monarch. (If Jefferson was alive today, I bet he would say, told you so!"
The first party was started by Jefferson and Madison in attempts to defend the county from Hamilton's monarchical federalist leanings. The party that Jefferson formed was known as Democratic-Republicans, or "Republicans" for short. That party today is basically what you call the "Democratic" party.
Don't you think it's time to put a stop to our corrupt government! All the sleeping sheep in America that have followed and believed in their government for so long, need to find the "wolf" within them and at least start showing some fangs!
Who is tired of being a slave to our government? That is basically what we are is slaves! We lease our bodies out to the government and allow them to steal almost 50% of our pay checks.
I would like to leave you with a thought from President Nixon - "Politics would be a hell of a good business if it weren't for all the goddamned people."
