FULTON - Fulton Police Officer Darrell Gates was arrested by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations Tuesday and charged with two felony counts.
Fulton Police Chief Ray Barrett said Gates has been with the department for the past four years. It was not clear if Gates is still on the force. Gates was arrested on charges of embezzlement, a public official accepting a bribe and disorderly conduct.
Gates bonded out on a $9,000 bond out of the Itawamba County jail shortly after being arrested.
