11.30.2006 - GARY, Ind. -- A Gary police officer accused of spending the money of a neighbor he befriended then put into a nursing home faces felony charges. Gary police Sergeant Officer Joshua Wiley is charged with six counts, including fraud on a financial institution, exploitation of an endangered adult and theft. A probable cause affidavit says the 18-year Gary Police Department veteran admitted 87-year-old Helen Chentnik into a nursing home in April of 2004 and never visited her again. Doctors say the woman suffers from dementia and senility. Over the last four years, Wiley allegedly cashed the woman's pension and Social Security checks, took money from her savings account and took ownership of Chentnik's house for $10. www.wave3.com/Global/story.asp?S=5746714&nav=0RZF
