Officer Jim Frye 10.16.2006 - Authorities in Knoxville have arrested a former Knox County deputy sheriff on bank robbery charges. According to the FBI, a man walked into a Regions Bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over the money and the man drove away in a red minivan. Deputies spotted the van minutes later and followed Officer Jim Frye to his house. They found the money and note inside the van. Officials did not say how much money was taken in yesterday's robbery. Investigators will review security tapes to determine whether Frye was behind a July robbery at the same bank. Frye resigned from the sheriff's office in 2002 after he was suspended for bad check charges. www.wbir.com/news/regional/story.aspx?storyid=38200
