July 15, 2006 - PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia police officer has been accused of trying to shoplift from a department store. Officer Renell Cohen, 35, has been charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy after being arrested for trying to take $258 worth of merchandise from a Wal-Mart in Franklin Mills Shopping Center on Tuesday, police said. Cohen, a four-year veteran of the force, was off-duty at the time of the alleged incident.
