June 11, 2006 -NEW ORLEANS - Police superintendent Warren Riley says an eight-year New Orleans Police Department veteran was arrested and charged with participating in the armed robbery of a five Asian women at a downtown massage parlor
The women filed a complaint with the police' Public Integrity bureau saying Joshua Burns and others participated in the armed robbery on Thursday. Police didn't disclose the amount of money taken in the robbery.
Authorities say Burns resigned from the department after his Friday arrest.
Burns was booked on armed robbery and malfeasance in office charges.
A warrant was also issued for the arrest of Quincy Shelling, a six-year veteran of the force. Police say Shelling is wanted on a charge of armed robbery and malfeasance in office.
The FBI joined the Public Integrity Bureau in the investigation, which officials say is ongoing and may result in the arrest of more officers.
