04/21/2006 - The attorney for a deceased Fulton County man has filed a wrongful death lawsuit this week in federal court. It accuses police officers of misconduct, while serving a search warrant for drugs at the Glasford home of David Green.
Green, 47, died after he was shot 10 times during the June 2005 raid at his residence. The West Central Illinois Task Force served that warrant. But defendants in this lawsuit are "unknown officers" because Green's attorney, Jim Ginzkey, has been unable to narrow down who actually pulled the trigger. He also said evidence contradicts police statements.
“We have had autopsy photographs and the autopsy records reviewed fairly closely by an independent forensic pathologist,” Ginzkey said. “Most of the gunshots were to the back, not to the front."
HOI News attempted to contact the Illinois State Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office to get their side of the story, but we were only able to leave messages. In the past, they told us 72 pot plants, drug labs, and four shotguns were found at Green's residence during the raid.
