11.01.2006 - POCONO PINES — Domestic assault charges against a Pocono Mountain Regional Police officer and his wife were dismissed after they declined to testify against each other Thursday. Officer Michael and Kimberly Ann Rice, both 37, of Pocono Pines were charged after state police at Fern Ridge responded to an Oct. 2 early-morning incident at their home. Rice said his wife came home drunk, got into a verbal argument with him and began swinging at him. He said he pushed her away and that she fell. Kimberly Rice said her husband pushed and struck her without provocation. Troopers reportedly found bruises on them both. The Rices told Magisterial District Judge Richard Claypool they would not testify against each other. The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department declined to say whether or not Michael Rice was suspended from duty while facing the charges. www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061027/NEWS/610270366
