Officer Danielle Baymack 10.16.2006 - RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - The mother of the rookie New York City police officer charged in the alleged drunken-driving death of a fellow rookie says the accused woman is sorry. Gail Baymack spoke to reporters yesterday after hustling her daughter inside her Ronkonkoma home. She said her daughter is "very, very sorry." She also offered condolences to the family of the victim. Officer Danielle Baymack entered the home of her mother and sister with a red sweat shirt pulled over her face as photographers tried to take her picture. The 22-year-old returns to court in Mineola Monday. She has pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving in the death of 24-year-old Marlene Rivera, who was a passenger in the one-car crash. Both women were July graduates of the New York Police Academy. They were assigned to the 103rd Precinct in Queens. wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_268055743.html
