09.21.2006 - MEMPHIS -- A Shelby County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jailer faces an illegal drug possession charge after being caught by the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Squad. Deputy Anthony Haley, 27, who's been working in the Sheriff's office since 2005, was arrested yesterday afternoon by undercover Narcotics Deputies in Midtown. According to investigators, Haley agreed to meet what he thought was a drug dealer near the intersection of Poplar at Cleveland yesterday afternoon. Haley tried to purchase marijuana, but the dealer was actually a Shelby County Deputy. Haley later agreed to allow Deputies to search his home. The police found more marijuana there. The case will be turned over to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office for a possible indictment against Haley. In the meantime, Anthony Haley has been relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. www.wreg.com/Global/story.asp?S=5436911
