07.27.2006 - MOBILE, Ala. A former Fulton County, Georgia, sheriff's deputy is headed to prison for his conviction on federal drug charges. 40-year-old officer Dwayne Turner will serve 57 months on a count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He was sentenced Tuesday in Mobile federal court. In October 2005, F-B-I agents arrested Turner in the parking lot of a Montgomery restaurant on drug trafficking charges. According to court documents, a convicted drug dealer identified Turner as his supplier. U-S Attorney Deborah Rhodes said Turner sold large quantities of marijuana and cocaine to the dealer on several occasions. She said additional drug-related offenses, including distributing cocaine were dismissed. Prior to his arrest, Turner had faced disciplinary action at the Fulton County Jail because he was among four deputies who allowed a work-release inmate and rap artist to shoot a music video inside the Atlanta facility in June 2004. www.wtvm.com/Global/story.asp?S=5205154&nav=8fap
