KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A Kissimmee police detective was arrested Monday on charges of sexually abusing a teenage family member. According to police, Officer Ryan Brackmeier, 37, was charged with five counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition and one count of child abuse, WESH 2 News reported. The investigation began Jan. 19 and Brackmeier was placed on administrative duties after his wife called a sergeant in the Kissimmee Police Department and reported the incidents that she said dated back to 2001. According to investigators, the girl told detectives Brackmeier first exposed himself in November 2001. Police said she ran to a neighbor’s home and told them what happened and the neighbor called Brackmeier’s wife. But when she confronted him, he denied the allegations, authorities said. The victim told police the incidents continued until 2006. Brackmeier has been with the Kissimmee Police Department since 2000 and has not had any internal investigations conducted before. Police said that a review of all cases investigated by Brackmeier, who worked in the Property Crimes Unit and the Major Crimes Unit, is being conducted by supervisory personnel. www.wesh.com/news/10879012/detail.html
