A former Anthony, Texas, police officer pleaded guilty today in 243rd District Court to a civil rights violation on allegations he received sexual favors in exchange for not taking a woman to jail during a traffic stop in 2002. Officer Lorenzo Lozoya, 33, and fellow officer Eduardo Casillas, 31, were accused of stopping a woman on suspicion that she was driving while intoxicated in Anthony on April 15, 2002. The uniformed officers then took her to a desert area where she was allegedly offered the choice of performing oral sex instead of going to jail, complaint affidavits stated. Lozoya and Casillas were later arrested by detectives with the El Paso County Sheriff s Office. Casillas is scheduled to go to trial in February. www.elpasotimes.com/breakingnews/ci_4735033
