08.15.2006 - SAN FRANCISCO A San Francisco police officer faces 40 felony charges for allegedly misusing the department's confidential computer databases. The district attorney's office say it charged Sergeant Andre Fontenot with two counts each for the 20 victims whose information he allegedly tapped into. Investigators say he used the information for personal reasons. Officer Fontenot -- a 17-year-old veteran of the force -- previously was reassigned from patrol to investigations after he allegedly used the Department of Motor Vehicles database to get personal information on drivers, many of whom were women. Fontenot was arrested today and released from jail after posting 100-thousand dollars bail. Police say he's also been suspended without pay. www.kesq.com/Global/story.asp?S=5281081&nav=9qrx
