August 05, 2006 - BROWNSVILLE - A federal officer has been accused of using the Internet to try to solicit sex from a minor who was actually a California lawman posing online as a child.
Officer Michael Aaron Walker, a 43-year-old officer with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was taken into custody Tuesday at the federal courthouse.
Walker was most recently working in Albuquerque, N.M., but was accused of the crime while serving as an armed transport officer in Los Fresnos.
The Texas Attorney General's Office reported Wednesday that Walker is charged with online solicitation of a minor and criminal attempted sexual performance by a child.
Walker in March allegedly engaged in graphic Internet sexual conversations with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl, according to a statement from Attorney General Greg Abbott.
