05/20/2006 - A veteran North St. Paul police officer is accused of peering at a young woman and a child as they showered at the Maplewood Community Center.
Officer Paul Brudzinski has been on the force for nearly 22 years, and is described as being an excellent officer.
Surveillance footage captured Brudzinski leaving the family locker room, where the young woman and her sister say he peered over a shower stall at them while they were changing and showering off after using the pool.
"To say that we are not disappointed with the allegations and charges, of course we are and surprised,” says North St. Paul Police Chief Tom Lauth.
Brudzinski was not on duty at the time, but has now been placed on administrative leave.
He is charged with invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct.
The North St. Paul Police Department will wait for the criminal process before taking any disciplinary action.
If found guilty, Brudzinski would likely lose his job.
