02/03/2006 - An Oklahoma City police officer was fired last week after an internal police investigation into claims he had sex with a prostitute.
Jeff Sellers, whose age was not released, came under suspicion for sexual misconduct in October 2004, and a criminal investigation began, police Capt. Jeffrey Becker said.
Sellers was placed on administrative leave with pay about a month later, and sometime after that, the Oklahoma County district attorney declined to file charges, Becker said.
In April, police initiated an administrative investigation, ultimately finding that Sellers had sex with a prostitute while he was on duty, then lied to investigators, Becker said.
Sellers had been a city officer since May 2001, Becker said.
Friday?s firing came weeks after a woman filed a lawsuit against another Oklahoma City officer, alleging he held her against her will and raped her this month.
The woman, who is identified as a prostitute in several police reports, is seeking more than $10,000 in damages.
