A friend of mine is a teacher at a government school. She was telling me this weekend, how the cops bring in "drug dogs" to school to intimidate and search the children for drugs.
On one occasion she said the cops brought a drug dog into her class room and let the dog go around all the students sitting in their desk. The drug dog starting barking or scratching at a particular students backpack. The officers asked the student to get her bag and come outside the class room. The teacher stepped out in the hall with the cops and student to observe.
The cops asked the student if they could search the backpack. The teacher said the student said NO you can't, that's my personal property. The cops replied back, that's too bad and said that the student had NO RIGHTS while attending a "government school" and that they would search the backpack, since the drug dog alerted the officers of possible drugs in the backpack.
Well the Nazi brown shirts opened the backpack, only to find papers, pens and "two bags of chips." The stupid dog was hungry and he smelled the two bags of chips, so that gave the stupid cops probable cause to search an innocent persons property.
When the teacher and student went back to class, the teacher asked the student if she was scared and also ask the student why she refused to allow the officer to search her backpack. "The teacher told me she knew what students more than likely did drugs and she knew this particular student didn't do drugs." The student said that she wasn't scared, because she knew she had nothing in the backpack. As far as her refusing the officers to search her backpack, she said Mrs. X, there's a lot of things I have learned from you and the school, but one thing you don't teach is that we students have as much rights as adults when it comes to dealing with the police. The whole class cheered for the student! The student said she learned about her "rights" off the Internet. This blew my mind, that a 10th grader knew her rights and was standing up to the cops.
As far as the stupid drug dog, this just goes to show you that drug dogs will make a "hit" on just about anything else, other than actual "drugs." Yes I believe that most cops have their drug dogs trained to "hit" on a car or person, when given a command by the crooked thug cop!
