06.16.2006 - DALLAS - Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle today fired three more officers and suspended a fourth after a string of dismissals in recent weeks.
Kunkle made the decisions following disciplinary hearings for various offenses, which included associating with a known wanted felon, taking property from a vehicle without authorization and being away without leave (AWOL) from assigned duties.
The fourth officer, who was arrested in February on a driving while intoxicated charge that was later dropped, was suspended for ten days.
The chief fired five officers June second and another four on June eighth -- claiming he was tired of police misconduct and planned to get the department's "house in order."
All officers can appeal the dismissals.
