I do apologize in advance, I posted this in another topic. I really have to get this news out. Forest Park consists of a racist police department who target Latinos and African Americans.
Recently, Forest Park has been in the papers for Police Brutality. They have had many incidents of police brutality and police misconduct these incidents have not been investigated and are reoccuring continously. I am posting them here so that the public is aware of them.
Please note that a 22-year veteran officer who has spoken out against police brutality is now in the process being fired.
In January 2004, a homeless man was beaten and arm broken by Officer Michael Murphy. Michael Murphy is still on the force has never been suspended and Officer Michael Murphy's wife is now employed as Mayor Anthony Calderone's personal assistant. Mayor Anthony Calderone oversees the police department and is good friends with Chief Jim Ryan (this is why their department covers up these incidents and use their Internal Affairs to do their investigations). A misuse of power having the same department investigate the same department.
In 2003, Lt. Cody pulled down a fellow officer Andrea Caines shirt at a Village sponsored picnic. Andrea Caines sued the Village successfully. However, Lt. Cody was promoted to his Lt. status and his wife Sally Cody is the Village Clerk.
Recently, a young 19 year old Latino man was beaten and tasered multiple times by Officer Ken Gross. Officer Ken Gross approached the young Latino man from the back by pulling his shoulder and swinging him around. Officer Gross was not in uniform. He was wearing jeans and a hooded jacket. He never identified himself as an officer. Naturally, the young latino who was in a previous altercation, thought he was being jumped from behind turned around and accidentally hit the officer.
Then the young male was beaten several times in the head and body as well as tasered multiple times, this abuse carried even once in handcuffs.

In October, 2003 Harder reported witnessing :
Officer Jason Keeling take a handuffed juvenile prisoner and slam his head against a wooden door frame inside our police station.
Ryan declined to investigate.
In January, 2004 Harder reported:
Several Forest Park Police Officers had been interviewed by the Cook County States Attorney's Office and planned to testify against Sergeant Mike Murphy because they observed him using excessive force against Sidney Hooks. Mr. Hooks was pepper sprayed and his wrist was broken when Sergeant Murphy hit him. These officers were concerned that the department was "covering up" the incident.
Here's what Ryan investigated:
[T]here was an internal investigation into trying learning [sic] the identity of the person(s) who "leaked" information to the Public Defender's Office.
In March, 2004 Harder reported:
I was contacted by Sgt. Maureen Frawley and told that Officer Jason Keeling had allegedly severely beatn a prisoner, Stephen Hetman, who was in custody at the Village Police Department. Officer Keeling was alleged to have grabbed Mr. Hetman, thrown him into a cell while he was handcuffed, and repeatedly hit and kneed him while he was on the ground.
Ryan failed to investigate.
...a male police officer with a crew cut punched [Paul J. Cruikshank] numerous times in the head and ribs, and kneed him in his side. This was done while Cruikshank was handcuffed and in the back of a Forest Park Police Squad Car. [The detectives] told me that Cruikshank was hurt so badly that he could not eat his meals and they worried that his allegation could compromise their case.
Ryan failed to investigate.
