A new and improved way to generate revenue. Pull over good drivers and with a throw of the dice you may find something to arrest them for. The Round Rock Express minor-league baseball team is probably paying off the police to look the other way when it comes to their players. Basically it's another way to conduct "fishing expeditions" on anyone they choose. Even if no crime has been committed or the cop doesn't have probable cause to pull them over in the first place. This isn't too new, this has been tried in other cities in the last few years, it's part of the "war on drugs." Here's how one traffic stop might result: Officer: Sir the reason I pulled you over today, is to compliment you on your driving. I would like to offer you some "free tickets." Driver: Ummm, ok Officer: Sir, since your such a good driver, I'm sure your a very upstanding citizen as well, would you mind me searching your vehicle? Driver: No sorry not today, for you see I'm late for an appoitment. Ok now if someone is pulled over just to be given "free tickets," they should be able to.... 1. Leave at anytime without the officers permission? 2. You shouldn't be required to give an I.D. either, right? You're being illegally pulled over and detained.

I don't recall it being a job description of law enforcement to give out "freebies?" I thought it was to uphold the law, not to reward people for being good Samaritans? Has the crime rate drop so much that officers have time to be doing this?
I agree, it's simply a way to pull people over without probable cause and a chance at a fishing expedition, which is totally unconstitutional!

Free tickets? Please! The tickets are paid by tax payers dollars.
