Last week in the Roanoke Valley, a police officer allegedly rear ended a teenager on Interstate 81. Destinee Puckett was on her way to Salem, headed south on the interstate, when she moved into the left lane to pass a truck. Eric Cmeyla stayed right on her tail. The silver Volkswagen Jetta remained about one car length behind her. She tapped on the brake peddle several times. She says she then noticed something in her rearview mirror. Both cars pulled over on the shoulder of the interstate, just north of Exit 140. She says the officer pointed a gun at her. He also threatened to kill her. Officer Eric David Cmeyla has been with the Greenville, South Carolina Police Department for six months. He is still in training. The 41-year-old officer was charged with "brandishing a firearm" and "following too close." He was released on his own recognizance the same day. We were unable to reach Cmeyla for comment. The number he gave police has been disconnected. His attorney declined comment, until the case comes up in April. www.wdbj7.com/Global/story.asp?S=6122097&nav=S6aK
