Officer Darren Lawrence 11.30.2006 - Schenectady police officer is back on the payroll after he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. But department officials say Darren Lawrence remains on administrative leave. Lawrence was originally put on unpaid suspension on October 20 when he was arrested by Colonie police. Civil service law required him to be put back on the payroll if the charges against him weren't resolved within 30 days. Colonie police claim Lawrence flipped his car over on the Northway last month. His passenger told police that Lawrence fought with him when he said he wanted to call the police after the accident. www.capitalnews9.com/content/headlines/?ArID=198522&SecID=33
