04/24/2006 - A former Bridgeport police officer is on trial for a shooting rampage in 2004 in which he's accused of firing at a dozen people.
Twenty-nine-year-old John Biehn has been charged with attempted murder, attempted first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and committing a felony with a firearm.
Police say that on August 23, 2004, Biehn went on a drunken rampage in the Marina Village housing project after fighting with his girlfriend.
Police say that Biehn, armed with a loaded 40-caliber handgun, went to the home of a man he had arrested some time before. But when the door was slammed on him, Biehn began firing the gun indiscriminately at people on the street.
At one point, Biehn pointed the gun at the head of a high school student and fired, missing the boy as he fled down the street.
Prosecutors say he then approached a car occupied by three young women and took aim, but the gun jammed.
