06.01.2006 - A former Pine Bluff police officer is scheduled to return to court Thursday to face a charge of conspiracy to commit capital murder.
The defendant, Jimmy Frizielle, has pleaded not guilty. Earlier this week, Sandra Jacks of Pine Bluff testified that Frizielle asked her for $50,000 to make two of her neighbors disappear.
Jacks said she had a long-running dispute with the neighbors, Tim and Lori Puddephatt and had called police to complain about their behavior. Jacks testified that one of the officers who responded was Frizielle, and she says he suggested several times that she hire him to make the couple disappear. But the couple wasn't harmed.
Jacks went to prosecutors, who set up video and audio recording devices to capture transactions with Frizielle. A prosecutor says the former officer took cash for the planned killings. The recordings are scheduled to be played Thursday. Frizielle was arrested in 2004.
