04/22/2006 - MUSKEGON -- Two officers are being disciplined for accidentally shooting at each other inside a Muskegon home.
Officers responded April 1 to the home in the 700 block of McLaughlin Avenue for a report of a possible kidnapping.
Three people were in the home’s basement when police burst through the front and rear doors.
Investigators say one of the officers thought he was in danger from somebody with a gun. The second officer returned fire in the direction of where that shot came from.
The Muskegon police chief says action has been taken against the officers involved, although he wouldn't reveal details because it is a personnel matter.

Can we see a show of hands on who thinks both these officers are idiots?

I would like to address the Police Chief by name, but he's to embarrass to even put his name on his own police departments Web site.
Personal matter? A personal matter is when one of your officers comes to you Chief and tells you that they have genitle warts. I don't think it's a "personal matter" when public servants screw up and put their life and/or others on the line for improper training and probably not following procedure. There is no reason for you not to tell the public what action you took to correct this matter.
