01/24/06 - PATTON VILLAGE, TEXAS - Another officer in the small town of Patton Village is accused of a serious crime.
UPS driver Jaimie Chapa was making his rounds at a Clear Lake apartment complex when he was confronted by Officer Robert McCandless. Chapa says officer McCandless was upset because he had parked behind him. He says the officer pulled a gun and threatened to shoot him if he didn't move the truck.
"They're supposed to be protecting the people, not assaulting the people," said Chapa.
Just last week, Patton Village Officer Vernon Ray Allison was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.
Last summer, Jeffry Speer pleaded guilty to verbally and physically abusing a driver he pulled over. The police department only has 25 officers.
