Officer Ivan Young 10.16.2006 - Nearly a week after a Holt County, Nebraska, sheriff's deputy was arrested and charged with phoning in a threat against dozens of local schools, Ivan Young was scheduled to be back in court. But, there's been a change of plan. 41-year-old Officer Ivan Young was scheduled to be in Rock County Court for a bond hearing this afternoon. Court officials tell us that the hearing did not take place today and that Holt County Attorney Thomas Herzog will be taking over the prosecution in the case. I did make contact with Herzog's office this afternoon and staff members said he is not prepared to make a statement at any time. So far, no new information has been released as to new court dates or locations. Young has been charged with one count of terroristic threats in the incident last Wednesday where he called a Bassett Nebraska newspaper and said there would be a shooting at a school in either Rock or Holt County. The call put nearly two dozen schools in three counties on lockdown status, some for two days. Sheriff's officials used phone records to trace the call to Young's Cell phone which resulted in his arrest. Young continues to be held in the Rock County Jail on one million dollars bond. www.ktiv.com/News/index.php?ID=5472
