October 29, 2005 PEMBROKE BOSTON - A Plymouth County deputy sheriff's handgun was still missing Friday after he inadvertently left it in a doughnut shop rest room the night before. John Birtwell, spokesman for Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald, did not release the deputy sheriff's name, but did say that he is a civil process deputy who was on duty when the incident occurred. The deputy sheriff has been suspended without pay pending further investigation, Birtwell said. UPDATE!!!!
The absent-minded deputy has also been placed under investigation for a shooting incident after which a suspect was taken to a local emergency room to have three doughnut holes removed from his left shoulder and arm.

Now Congress is getting into the fray! Senators Diane Frankenstein and Chuckie Shroomer have introduced legislation to institute a three-day waiting period to buy doughnuts and a limit on how many sprinkles the common citizen is allowed to own. Democrat politicians all over the country are jumping on the band wagon, demonizing Krispie Kreme and Duncan Donuts as a "special interest lobby."
