August 14, 2006 - An eastern Kentucky family is suing a deputy and the Perry County Sheriff's Department after they say their kids were pepper sprayed. The father of the three children, all under the age of ten, wishes to remain unidentified. He says that on July 21st of last year, Perry County Sheriff's Deputy Jay Van Vranken came to his home to give his wife forfeiture papers. He says when Van Vranken entered the home their dog started barking and the deputy reacted violently. WYMT contacted the sheriff's office and Sheriff Pat Wooten, along with his attorney, and they quote adamantly deny the incident ever happened. Both sides are now waiting for a court date. www.wkyt.com/Global/story.asp?S=5280468&nav=4CAL
