August 11, 2006 -HARVEY, Ill. - A suburban Chicago police detective has been charged with misconduct after investigators say he tampered with evidence. Authorities say 37-year-old Harvey police detective Hollis Dorrough smuggled a gun out of the police station that was linked to an October incident. Investigators allege that a Harvey city official urged Dorrough to get rid of the gun. That official is not being named because he has not been charged. Prosecutors say Dorrough faces up to five years in prison if he is convicted. He is scheduled to appear in Bond Court today. Durrough's arrest is the latest blow to the troubled Harvey police department. Aldermen have approved a resolution asking the city's mayor and police chief to ask the state police to audit the department. abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=local&id=4452244
