August 29, 2006 - Macon police officer has been fired for allegedly taking a police radio and part of a police siren. Officer Dawson Justice, 24, has been charged with two counts of theft, according to Police Chief Mike Burns. He has five days to appeal his firing, police officials said today. Police said they were led to Justice after a Sunday search at the Macon home of Robert Gunn. Police had received a tip that Gunn might have a radio stolen from the Macon police radio shop. He did not, police said, but they found a radio that was allegedly stolen from another police officer. Gunn told police that he was given the radio by Justice, Burns said. Both Gunn and Dawson were arrested today, police said. www.macon.com/mld/macon/15383128.htm
