TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Misdemeanor domestic assault and battery charges have been filed against a Tulsa police sergeant accused of kicking his wife and hitting her with a bowl. Sgt. Mark Lloyd Sherwood, 42, of Owasso was booked into the Tulsa Jail Wednesday and freed on $1,000 bond, jail records show. Sherwood is a member of the Power Team, a group of Dallas-based Christian evangelists who use feats of strength such as bending steel bars, ripping telephone books in half and smashing bricks with their hands in what the group's Web site calls "family-focused evangelism." As a member of the Power Team, Sherwood has traveled across the country to minister and give motivational speeches. His profile on the Power Team's Web site says he is 6 feet tall, weighs 250 pounds and bench-presses more than 400 pounds. The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office said Sherwood is accused of throwing a bowl at his wife, hitting her, and kicking her in the leg on Nov. 27. www.examiner-enterprise.com/articles/2006/12/22/news/state/state996.txt
