10.17.2006 - MORGAN COUNTY - A Miller County Sheriff's deputy is on administrative leave after being arrested in Morgan County on multiple charges stemming from an alleged domestic dispute at a residence in the Rocky Mount area.
The deputy was arrested on Sunday morning by the Morgan County Sheriff's Department after allegedly threatening his live-in girlfriend and firing several rounds from his service revolver.
Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney Marvin Opie confirmed the arrest of Deputy Sean P. McGee. He is currently being held in the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
According to court documents, McGee had allegedly been drinking when he started arguing with his girlfriend. When she tried to leave the residence the couple shared, McGee allegedly fired four shots from his service revolver at the car she was in, causing extensive damage and disabling the vehicle.
After preventing the girlfriend from leaving, McGee allegedly forced his way back into the residence where she and two children were, broke a lock on the door, and allegedly fired the revolver into a cabinet. The bullet traveled through the cabinet and into an adjoining residence where a woman and three children were sleeping.
When deputies arrived, a search of the residence showed the shot fired inside had traveled through a refrigerator, cabinet and into a wall. Deputies also found what appeared to be a small bag of marijuana sitting on a small dresser.
In a statement given to deputies, McGee allegedly said she got what she had coming to her. McGee also allegedly admitted to deputies the marijuana found in the residence belonged to him.
McGee is charged with domestic assault, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of property damage, third-degree assault and possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana.
