June 28, 2006 - Authorities say 43-year-old officer Earl Ledoux, whose work includes investigating claims of child abuse, hit his five-year-old son several times on the back about six weeks ago. Authorities say the child sustained significant bruising. Ledoux has been released on $5000 personal recognizance after his arraignment in Family Court yesterday. He has also been suspended with pay from his job. A judge also ordered Ledoux not to use corporal punishment against his children and surrender any firearms to police. Ledoux was allowed to return to his family after the judge heard his pleas that his wife's was ill, and his children needed him at home. www.abc6.com/engine.pl?station=wlne&id=20624&template=breakout_story_local_news.shtml&dateformat=%25M+%25e,%25Y
