05.27.2006 - MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee police officer has been charged with misdemeanor battery after prosecutors say he hit his wife and a second man at their home.
According to a criminal complaint, 34-year-old Michael Capati told investigators he came home and found his wife and another man together.
The complaint says Capati broke through a window at the Fox Point home and hit his wife and the man.
Capati, a five-year veteran who served on the elite tactical unit, has been suspended with pay.
He was charged yesterday with three misdemeanors _ battery, criminal damage to property and obstructing.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of 27 months in prison and a 30-thousand dollar fine.

headline news. dont we have more important things to talk about in milwaukee than a cops personal life! It's no longer anyone's personal life once they are accused of breaking the law, in this case it's assault. What makes it news is the fact the accused is a public figure, you know one of those people were suppose to trust and have faith in.

Gotta say I don't blame him here...if I found my wife in bed with someone, they wouldn't get off with anything close to "battery". More like "dismemberment".

kc,I agree with you that it makes the news because he is a public figure or should I say because milwaukee is not in favor of cops these days. However, don't believe EVERYTHING you read or hear that comes from the media. Every tv station had a different story. By the way, what would you do if it happened to you?
