December 9, 2006 By Jessie Halladay A Louisville Metro Corrections officer was arrested and charged with drunken driving Thursday night. Christopher Hornback, 34, also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and having no insurance after police came across an injury accident about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Third Street and Manslick roads, according to the arrest report. Police said they found Hornback walking away from the accident along railroad tracks. Police smelled a strong odor of alcohol, and Hornback admitted he'd been drinking and had been driving one of the vehicles involved in the accident, the arrest report said. Police took a blood sample and sent it to the Kentucky State Police crime lab for analysis. Hornback was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries, said Officer Dwight Mitchell, a metro police spokesman. A victim in the other vehicle, which Hornback reportedly hit, was taken to Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, also with minor injuries. Hornback has worked for Metro Corrections since September 2003, said Pam Windsor, a spokeswoman for the agency. He has been on medical leave, Windsor said. No decision has been made on his status. www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061209/NEWS01/612090383/1008/NEWS01
