07.25.2006 - SAN ANTONIO - A police officer has been charged with five misdemeanor counts of official oppression after being accused of groping and sexually harassing five women. Officer Randy Ramirez, 35, has been placed on administrative duty. Ramirez, a five-year veteran of the force, turned himself in Monday. His attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday. The women said in affidavits that Ramirez touched or grabbed them without their consent while he was in uniform. Four of the women were nurses. They said he made inappropriate comments, and one said he groped her breast. She said in the affidavit that when she told him she was going to report the incident, he said, "Who's going to believe you. I'm a cop." The women didn't report the alleged incidents for fear of retaliation, several affidavits said. Police spokesman Joe Rios said the department was alerted to the case by a call to dispatchers. www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/business/15118414.htm
