06.02.2006 - SANTA FE (AP) - A former Santa Fe police detective accused of using the Internet to try to lure a teenager for sex also has been accused of stalking another woman.
The state attorney general’s office says a Santa Fe grand jury Wednesday indicted 40-year-old officer Danny Valdez.
Officer Valdez is charged with child solicitation by computer, attempted criminal sexual penetration, attempted tampering with evidence, burglary and stalking.
Valdez has been jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond.
The attorney general’s office says Valdez is accused of using the Internet to attempt to have sex with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
Valdez was arrested May 20th after he rented a hotel room and went to a community center to meet a girl who turned out to be an undercover officer.
