Officer Tyrone Chrisjohn
02/24/2006 - A Saugerties Village cop was arrested on charges that he had sex with teenage girls ages 14 and 16. District Attorney Donald Williams said Tyrone Chrisjohn, 34, of Saugerties, was charged with rape in the second and third degree.
The arrested ended an investigation into allegations that Chrisjohn, a four-year veteran of the village police force, had sex with the girls in the summer of 2004. The girls met Chrisjohn through his association with the police department.
He was on duty and in uniform at the time the incidents allegedly occurred.
Williams said the investigation is continuing.
Chrisjohn was arraigned in Town of Ulster Court, pled not guilty, and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000.
He was immediately suspended from duty pending further review of the allegations.
