as a minor do i have the right to have my parents present if i am about to be searched ?? NO! ?? as an adult do i have the right to have my parents present if i am about to be searched. Your question is wrong. Do the police have a right to search you at all? Check out flyservers.registerfly.com/members5/policecrime.com/police.html

A police officer doesn't need a parent present to search a minor. Actually police shouldn't search you, unless your under arrest. Now what they should be doing is a "pat down" of your outer clothing and that's it. They should NOT reach into pockets or make you empty your pockets, unless they can tell by the pat down that you have a weapon or drugs in you pocket, then they will reach in. At least that's what police are suppose to do, but they don't always follow the law as you can tell by reading this message board.
If a police officer starts going through your pockets and your not under arrest, keep repeating out loud that you don't give permission for this search.
If a cop wants to talk to you or "question" you, then you have the right not to talk to them and request your parents or a lawyer be present before you answer any questions.

KC is mostly correct (his biased opinion about police notwithstanding). However when you are in a place like school it is different. Like being at the airport, you're presence there is automatically considered a consent to a search. That is why your school administraters and police can search you and your belongings while on campus. Your local laws may vary.
However, KC, I don't think you should judge all cops based on what you read on the internets. Try thinking for yourself.

That is why your school administraters and police can search you and your belongings while on campus. Your local laws may vary. It's not "airport" rules, it's Federal law. When someone steps onto airport property, they are stepping onto federal grounds, am I correct? You give up all your constitutional rights when you step through their doors. Which I think is ignorant. However, KC, I don't think you should judge all cops based on what you read on the internets. Try thinking for yourself. PoliceCrimes.com prints only news stories of actual news events. The net is a great place to read stories of the corruption of bad cops and the so called good cops that turn their head and say nothing, because they are chicken shit. The net is still so new, just think 10, 15, 20 years ago people didn't have the ability of the net to read of all the crooked cops stories that are out there. PoliceCrimes.com and a few other sites, searches, saves and prints the stories for the whole world to read. I'm sure that really upsets and scares alot of people, specially some of those in law enforcement. If all cops just did their job and followed the constitution, this site wouldn't still be going now would it Homer?

PoliceCrimes.com prints only news stories of actual news events. Yes, like false allegations. Tell me, how many times have posted an article that cleared an officer that was falsely accused of wrongdoing, Homer?

Tell me, how many times have posted an article that cleared an officer that was falsely accused of wrongdoing, Homer? Honestly if I see a article of an officer being cleared I will post it. It doesn't bother me one bit. If I missed one let me know.
