Since most police department are doing away with the "Protect and Serve," I think the new one they should use would be "Respect and Serve." What do you think? You think police are capable of this?

One might think since the general public pay their paychecks and puts food on their families table they would be a little more respectful. Don't hold your breath.

Officers have their paychecks taxed just like every one else. Most officers live in the same city where they work. This means that they pay property tax to that city. Some officers believe that they pay themselves to work
Officers serve their masters, the Government, against the will of the people. They protect their masters, the Government, from the will of the people. Officers think that they deserve respect for being the gun toting pawns of their masters, the Government, and the enemy of a defenseless people
We need a police force that serves and protects the people to protect us from the police who serve and protect the Government.

That respect goes both ways. Cops today are just thugs. I was raised to respect the police. They lost my respect many years ago when everytime I have occasion to interact with them, they try to bully and intimidate me.

And there's not one time where you disrespected a cop first? Not one time when you got pulled over for speeding and you don't think you were that you were disrespectful? You are so full of it.

Police officers are not deserving of respect. I would no more give respect to a police officer than I would to a terrorist. Like the terrorist, police officers the hired guns for their masters. Police officers sole purpose in life is to convict and to incarcerate the enemy of their masters which is "We the people". A rose by any other name is still a rose. Police officers are traitors and Benedict Arnold's to the citizens of the United States of America and not worthy of respect.

the only thing cops deserve is a 9mm round in the base of the skull. when people stop being afraid of retribution and start acting with the conviction of the just, there will be alot of dead cops...and that is a great thing.

in 2005, nationwide, there were 155 police officers killed by citizens of the untited states. In the same year, at least 350 United States Citizens were killed by police officers. The actual number of citizens killed by police is hard to come by, considering that the majority law enforcement agencies do not report killings by police officers to the department of justice, even though they are required by a 1993 law todo so.This is an interesting statistic, considering that the police like to speak of the danger they put themselves while protecting the citizens. the numbers would argue, that it is far more dagerous to be a citizen than a cop.something else to consider, there were alot of nazi/gestapo agents killed by german, french, and polish citizens...but no one would argue that the nazis were the victems because they were responcible for beatings and murders and detentions of hundreds of more french, german and polish citizens. Most would argue, including modern american police officers, that the nazi/gestapo agents got what they derserved. But the gestapo/nazi agents argued, successfuly in some cases, that they were just agents of the law and did the things they did, the beatings and murder and detentions(arrests) by the letter of the law that they served. What is the difference between the amercan police culture and the gestapo/nazi agents? somatics only. people, police officers in perticuler, may take offense at me comparing the american police to the nazi gestapo, but to be objective, one must agree that the police making the argument that they are enforcing the law and that justifies or excuses thier actions against the citizenry is the exact same argument made by the nazi agents. Its quite simple, if you enforce a bad or unjust law, you are a bad or unjust individual. Period. If you beat and abuse citizens while enforcing the law and at some later point you arebeat down by a citizen, well that is justice regardless of the law. As far as respect goes...well its hard to respect snitches and suck ups...which are what the police are...they the kids who ran to the teacher to tell on you for making mud pies, or turns you into the principle for smoking behind the gym. they are the people who are so self conscious that they need an agency or government to ascert thier worth and require by law that other people "respect" them. if you notice, most police officers are either relatives of other police officers or punks who coulndt hack it in the military...usualy both. One last thing, for the police oout there...there is a huge difference between "respect" and "fear", respect leads to love and compassion( and springs from these as well) while fear leads to hate and violence( and is a result of)
