01.31.2007 - A Goodyear police officer has been suspended without pay for two days for a traffic violation and an off-duty affair with a married woman he met while on duty. Supervisors said the sexual conduct by Officer William Ryan, who also is married, was unbecoming a city employee because it violated an Arizona law, although rarely enforced, that makes adultery a crime. Police Chief Mark Brown said that although relationships are "mutual encounters," that does not relieve Ryan "from his duty as a police officer to uphold the laws of the land and the reputation of the Goodyear Police Department." www.azcentral.com/community/westvalley/articles/0131swv-goodyearcop31Z20.html
