I think that this is a great site to bring police brutality and misconduct to the forefront. However, you are wrong about Officer Dyone Taylor. Well, actually, you are not wrong, but you posted the press release from CPD word for word with no retort from others involved.
The statement by Patrick, whoever he was, was a total falsehood. First off, Officer Taylor never approached the officers. She was merely walking past to go home. Secondly, she never said a word to either officer, she had no idea what was going on. She was told by the female officer to go to her home and when she tried to oblige, she was accosted, insulted with a barrage of foul language and when she calmly tried to explain to the officer that she needed to pass them to go home because there is only one entry, she was slammed on the car and assaulted by five officers. As for the male officer, we have the video tape of him immediately after the incident and we can point out that at no time did he have any bite marks. Also, in court on two occasions, he said that he refused medical treatment for the allege bite, although it is CPD policy that any officer bitten while on duty MUST get tested for HIV and also a tetny (sp) shot. The very first thing that Officer Taylor said when the female officer instructed her to "take your fucking ass in the house" was that she was an off-duty officer. Oh, and, by the way, the statement from CPD failed to mention that she just received an honor from the police chief for SINGLE-HANDEDLY apprehending TWO men for the MURDER of a college student with a padlock. And, Officer Taylor is only 4'8'' inches tall. There is no way she could have assaulted an officer of 5' 9'' and 6'1'' respectively by herself. Not happening.
All charges against the other people arrested were dropped. Shed also gave a statement that he never once told a single police officer nor signed any statement indicating that he saw Officer Taylor shove anyone. He did however, on more than one occassion, tell others involved in the case that he was asked by CPD to say that Taylor shoved the officer for a lessor charge. There was never a Cognac bottle found on the scene and Shed had a styrofoam cup in his hand which was smacked to the ground because an officer believed there was alcohol in it, but once the cup hit the ground, Shed's chinese food spilled out.
