YORK, Pa. - A man accused of dropping a flowerpot on a city police officer checking complaints of a loud party was arrested in the Silver Spring, Md., area, officials said. Zebulun E. Sweeney, 19, of York, was charged with criminal intent to commit homicide and aggravated assault. He waived extradition at a hearing in Maryland, was being picked up Thursday by York County deputies and was expected to be lodged in the York County Prison by Friday, city police Lt. Ron Camacho said. Police Officer Michael Ebersole went to Sweeney's residence early on Dec. 17 to investigate complaints about a loud party. He was talking to partygoers when a flowerpot was pushed off a second floor balcony and struck him on the head, police said. Ebersole called for backup, and officers arrived and questioned people at the party. Sweeney was later named as the suspect in the attack, was charged, and was located about 10 days later in Maryland. Ebersole suffered a concussion and other injuries. He has not returned to work and is expected to be out for a few more weeks, Camacho said. www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/16389360.htm
