February 19th, 2007 SPOKANE -- Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich has suspended a deputy for three days without pay following an investigation into his role in two collisions the deputy was involved in in October and January. Deputy Gavin Pratt was involved in a collision on Jaunary 15th where he rear-ended a minivan. In that collision he suffered a broken hand, which was later determined to have been caused by his failure to wear a seatbelt. The minivan suffered some damage while Pratt's vehicle was totalled. In October, Pratt was involved in another accident where he pulled out into traffic near the Spokane International Airport, driving into the path of another vehicle a judge later determined had the right-of-way. Sheriff Knezovich suspended Pratt after determining he violated department policy in the January accident by failing to operate his vehicle in a safe and skillful manner and for failing to wear his seatbelt. www.kxly.com/news/?sect_rank=1§ion_id=559&story_id=8654
