NEW CITY, N.Y. - A naked photograph of a Clarkstown police officer is prompting a lot of questions. A police source told CBS 2 the racy picture was displayed as a screen saver on several computers at Clarkstown Police headquarters. The photo shows a Clarkstown officer, standing in front of a bathroom mirror, using a cellphone camera to take a picture of himself in the nude. "We do acknowledge it is the officer," said Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack, when asked who was in the photo. The Supervisor said the photo is now the subject of an internal affairs investigation. "We certainly don't condone it, we think this is not correct behavior," said Gromack "Certainly it's proper that we investigate." Gromack said he personally found the picture "outrageous." He said the officer had every right to take a nude photo of himself, but after the photo was distributed to others, the town had the responsibility to investigate. "People have individual rights," Gromack said, "but again, we have a certain standard in our police department, and as the investigation unfolds, at first blush this is certainly something we don't condone." A police spokesman said "no complainants" have come forward, but Internal Affairs investigators would like to hear from any members of the public who received the picture and found it offensive. Gromack said the five-member town board requested a full report from Internal Affairs within 60 days. The board also acts as the local police commission. The officer in the picture remains on regular duty while the investigation proceeds. wcbstv.com/watercooler/local_story_046175521.html
