12-7-2006- A Springfield, Massachusetts police officer is arrested for the third time since 2004 after failing to appear in court on charges of assaulting an ex-girlfriend and carrying a firearm while intoxicated. When Patrolman Karl Johnson did not show up in Springfield District Court Wednesday morning, Judge Nancy Dusek-Gomez issued a default warrant. Assistant District Attorney Eileen Sears says Johnson was found asleep at home, arrested and brought to court. Dusek-Gomez released him on $1,000 bail and rescheduled the trial for January 4th. Police spokeswoman Jennifer Flagg says Johnson's employment status is under review, and he could face disciplinary action. Flagg says Johnson works the midnight to 8am shift. www.wcsh6.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=47004
