January 26, 2007 CRYSTAL LAKE – A McHenry County Sheriff’s deputy has been charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly lost control of a squad car and crashed into a tree about 5:54 a.m. Jan. 20. Crystal Lake police charged 24-year-old Donald R. Anderson, of Huntley, with driving under the influence and reckless driving, according to a press release. Anderson was not on duty at the time of the crash. Preliminary investigation shows that Anderson was driving east on Buckingham Drive about 300 feet east of McHenry Avenue when he crossed into the westbound lane and hit a tree on the north side of the road. Anderson was examined at the scene but was not hospitalized, according to the press release.
